Permissions Explained
The extension requests only the permissions necessary to function:
- storage — Used exclusively to save and retrieve your local preferences as described above.
- Content script on all URLs — The progress bar must be injected into each page you visit in order to track scroll position and render the bar. No page content is read, recorded, or transmitted.
External Connections
The extension itself makes no network requests. The following are passive, user-initiated, or browser-standard behaviors:
- Google Fonts (Inter) — The popup UI loads the Inter typeface from Google Fonts for display purposes. This is a standard browser font request and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. No extension data is transmitted.
- bushe.co — The popup contains a link to bushe.co. This link is only followed if you choose to click it.
Children's Privacy
Reading Progress Bar does not collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The extension is a simple productivity tool with no data collection of any kind.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy is updated, the revised version will be published at this URL with an updated effective date. Given that this extension collects no data, substantive changes to this policy are unlikely.
