What the Extension Does

Shopify Theme Detector reads publicly visible page content — specifically script tags, stylesheet links, and the window.Shopify JavaScript object — on Shopify store pages you are actively browsing. This information is used to identify the store's theme and any third-party apps it uses.

Data Collection

• No personal data is collected at any time
• No shopping data, cart contents, or order information is accessed
• No browsing history is stored or transmitted
• No user accounts or profiles are created
• No analytics or telemetry are recorded

How Detection Works

When you click the extension popup, a script runs temporarily in the context of the current tab. It inspects:

• The window.Shopify object for theme name and ID
• Script and stylesheet URLs for known app domain signatures
• HTML content for additional app markers

Detection results are displayed immediately in the popup and are not stored anywhere — they are ephemeral and exist only for the duration of that popup session.

Permissions Used

• activeTab — to access the page you are currently viewing
• scripting — to run the detection script on the active tab

Third-Party Services

The extension popup loads fonts from Google Fonts CDN (fonts.googleapis.com). This is a standard web font request and is subject to Google's own privacy policy. No extension data is sent to Google.

No other third-party services, APIs, or servers are contacted by this extension.

Data Sharing

No data is shared with any third parties, because no data is collected in the first place.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
