Best Chrome Extension to Fix Google Search Layout
Patrick Bushe · May 1, 2026
Google's results page now stacks an AI Overview, ads, shopping boxes and "People also ask" above the links. Patrick Bushe's Search Cleaner lets you choose which of those to hide: it has 25 switches, from AI Overview (on by default) to Sponsored / Ads, Shopping Carousel, Videos & Reels and the Knowledge Panel on the right. It works on google.com search pages in Chrome, with no scripts or stylesheets to write, and the results Google returns stay the same; you just see fewer extras around them.
