Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information bushe.co collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. Bushe.co is run by Patrick Bushe, an independent designer and developer in Los Angeles. If you have a question, email hello@bushe.co.

The short version

• The tools run in your browser. Anything you type, paste, or upload into a tool is processed on your device and is never sent to us.
• The site uses Google Analytics to see which pages get visited, and Google AdSense to show ads on blog articles and tool pages. Both use cookies.
• Two privacy-focused tools, Ahrefs Web Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics, count visits without using cookies.
• If you email us or use the contact or free-audit form, we receive what you send.
• We don't sell your personal information.

The free tools

Every tool on bushe.co runs locally in your web browser. The text, numbers, files, and images you use in a tool are processed on your device and aren't uploaded to our servers or sent to anyone else.

Some tools download open-source code, such as a PDF or text-recognition library, from a public content delivery network. That sends the tool's code to your browser; it doesn't send your data anywhere. Some tools also remember your settings in your browser's local storage so they're there next time. That stays on your device, and you can remove it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We show ads from Google AdSense on blog articles and tool pages. Other pages, such as the homepage and service pages, don't show ads.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• Ads may also be served by other advertising companies that Google works with, which may use their own cookies.

You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of many third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices, or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu. Learn more about how Google uses cookies in advertising.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, how people find the site, approximate location (country or city), and device and browser type. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies. We use it to improve the site, not to identify you personally.

You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

We also use Ahrefs Web Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics. These are privacy-focused tools that count page visits without using cookies and without tracking you across other websites.

Cookies and consent

Bushe.co uses advertising cookies from Google AdSense and its partners, and analytics cookies from Google Analytics. We don't set cookies of our own to track you.

If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you're asked for consent through Google's consent management platform before these cookies are used for personalized ads and analytics. Until you consent, ads and analytics run in a limited, non-personalized mode. To change your choice later, clear this site's cookies and the consent message will appear again.

Anyone can block or delete cookies in their browser settings. Blocking them won't stop the tools from working.

Contact and free-audit forms

When you submit the contact form or the free website audit form, the details you enter, such as your name, email address, website, and message, are delivered to our email through FormSubmit, a form-delivery service. We use them only to reply to you and to do the work you asked about. We don't run a mailing list, so we won't add you to one, and you can ask us to delete your messages at any time.

Hosting and security

The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services and delivered through Cloudflare. Like most websites, these providers process technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Fonts and icons load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser requests them.

Browser extensions

Our Chrome extensions are separate products with their own privacy policies, linked from each extension's page on the products page. This policy doesn't change anything those policies say.

Links to other websites

Pages on bushe.co link to other websites, such as the Chrome Web Store. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy doesn't cover.

Children

Bushe.co isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices and rights

• Opt out of personalized ads in Google's Ads Settings or at aboutads.info.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser.
• Opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.
• Ask what we have from you (such as form messages and emails) or ask us to delete it by writing to hello@bushe.co.

Depending on where you live, for example in the EU, the UK, or California, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your information, or to object to how it's used. Email us and we'll respond. We don't sell your personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
