A freelance web designer with an agency’s portfolio
I’m Patrick Bushe, a freelance web designer and developer based in Los Angeles. You work with me directly from the first call to launch: custom design in Figma, a site built on WordPress, Shopify, or custom code, and a fixed price agreed before any work starts. Past builds include sites for Rob Dyrdek, Street League Skateboarding, DTA Posse, and the Pasadena Bar Association.

The designer on your first call is the one who builds the site. Nothing gets lost in a handoff to a junior team.
You get one price for an agreed scope after a free discovery call. No hourly meter running while you give feedback.
Sites for a celebrity founder, a pro skateboarding league, a streetwear brand, and a century-old bar association.
Fast load times, schema markup, and on-page SEO are part of every build, not an upsell.

View case studyEvery project includes
Custom design
Designed in Figma around your brand and your customers, not adapted from a marketplace template.
Built for every screen
Built mobile-first and checked on phones, tablets, and desktops before launch.
SEO set up at launch
Page titles, descriptions, headings, schema markup, and a sitemap, so search engines understand the site from day one.
Easy to update
Built on WordPress, Shopify, or a simple CMS, with a walkthrough so you can change text and photos yourself.
Rankings carried over
On a redesign, your old URLs are redirected to the new pages so the search traffic you already have follows you.
30 days of support
Fixes and small changes for 30 days after the site goes live.
Add an AI assistant to your new site
A better site brings in more inquiries. An AI add-on makes sure none of them wait. I build it alongside your site, so it launches with everything else.
AI website chatbot
Answers visitor questions from your site’s content around the clock, and captures the lead when they’re ready to talk.
AI receptionist
Answers your phone, books appointments, and takes messages when nobody can pick up.
Instant lead follow-up
Replies to every contact form within seconds, asks your qualifying questions, and books a call.

From first call to launch
Discovery call
A free call about your business, your customers, and what the site has to do. You get a fixed quote afterward.
Design
I design the key pages in Figma, usually over 2–4 weeks, and you approve every screen before any code is written.
Build
Development on WordPress, Shopify, or custom code, usually 4–8 weeks, with working links to review along the way.
Launch and support
Testing, launch, a walkthrough of how to update the site, and 30 days of support after it goes live.
Freelance web design pricing
Custom sites start at $5,000. Most projects land between $5,000 and $50,000+, depending on the number of pages, ecommerce, and integrations. I quote a fixed price rather than billing by the hour.
Every project includes discovery, design iterations, development, launch, and 30 days of post-launch support. Fixed scope, no surprise billing.

Patrick Bushe
I design and build websites, ecommerce stores, and digital products from Los Angeles. Every project is founder-led — when you hire bushe.co, you're working with me directly, not a junior team or an offshore handoff.
Past clients include Rob Dyrdek, Peels, Street League Skateboarding, DTA Posse, Pasadena Bar Association, and SpringClick. I use AI tools throughout the process to ship faster — without making the work generic.
What clients say
Patrick delivered exactly what he promised — a custom Shopify store that actually converts. No templates, no junior handoffs, just clean design and solid development. The fixed quote in 48 hours was a breath of fresh air.
We needed a serious WordPress rebuild for our marketing site. Patrick handled discovery, design, and build himself. Weekly check-ins, zero scope creep, and 30 days of support after launch. Highly recommend.
Best Shopify SEO work we’ve had. Technical audit, schema, speed improvements — all done by the founder. Our organic traffic started climbing within weeks.
Working with Bushe felt like having a senior partner instead of an agency. Patrick designed and built our custom WordPress site from scratch. It looks premium and performs even better.
From discovery call to launch in under two months. Fixed scope, clear deadlines, and real AI-augmented efficiency without the generic AI look. Exactly what we needed.
Patrick took over our half-finished Shopify store and turned it into something we’re proud of. Design iterations until it was right, clean handoff, and post-launch support included. Outstanding.
Questions buyers ask
How much does a freelance web designer cost?
Scope matters more than who you hire. My projects start at $5,000 and most land between $5,000 and $50,000+, with online stores and integrations at the higher end. You get one fixed price after a free discovery call.
Do you charge by the hour?
No. Hourly billing makes every round of feedback cost you money, so I price an agreed scope instead. If the scope changes partway through, we agree on the change before I do the extra work.
Why hire a freelance web designer instead of an agency?
You talk to the person doing the work, decisions happen in one conversation instead of three meetings, and you are not paying for account managers. The trade-off is capacity: a freelancer takes on a limited number of projects at once, so we agree on the launch date up front.
Can you build my site on Shopify or WordPress?
Yes. Shopify for online stores, WordPress for content-heavy sites your team will update, and custom code when neither fits. I recommend one on the discovery call based on what you sell and who will run the site.
Do you work with clients outside Los Angeles?
Yes. I am based in Los Angeles, and the work happens over video calls and shared design files, so your location rarely matters.
What do you need from me to get started?
A short call about your business and goals, a few sites you like, and your logo and any existing content. If you do not have copy or photos yet, we plan for them in the scope.
Ready to build something good?
Tell me what you're building. I'll send a fixed-scope quote within 48 hours — no decks, no sales calls, no pressure.
No commitment, no sales call. Usually reply within 24 hours.
