Tool for Keeping Important Tabs Pinned Securely
Patrick Bushe · May 1, 2026
Chrome's pinned tabs are the built-in way: right-click a tab and choose Pin, and it stays small at the left of the tab bar. To have pinned tabs open every time, set Settings > On startup to "Continue where you left off". Tab Manager keeps pinned tabs awake while it sleeps others ("Keep pinned tabs awake"), but it can't stop a tab being closed. If one is, Ctrl+Shift+T brings it back.
