Di.tl

Co-Founded and built di.tl, a lightweight SaaS link management tool that allowed users to create custom short links, manage redirects, and track basic performance. Developed the full platform including URL shortening engine, dashboard for link creation/editing, analytics views, and user accounts. Offered a clean, fast alternative for personal or branded shortening needs, with seamless integration for social sharing, marketing campaigns, and professional use—helping users simplify long URLs while maintaining control and insights.

Project Overview

di.tl was a SaaS product I conceived, designed, and fully developed as a simple yet powerful link shortening and management tool. In an era of exploding social media and digital sharing, it addressed the need for customizable, reliable short links without relying on big third-party services—offering users their own branded or personal short domain experience via di.tl.

Key features and technical aspects I implemented included:

Core Shortening Engine: Built robust logic to generate unique, short codes from long URLs, handle redirects efficiently, and support custom slugs where possible for memorability and branding.

User Dashboard & Management: Created an intuitive interface for account holders to create, edit, delete, and organize links—complete with real-time previews and easy copy functionality.

Analytics & Tracking: Added basic click tracking, referral sources, and performance metrics (views over time, geographic data if integrated) to provide users with actionable insights on link engagement.

Subscription & Access Model: Structured it as a SaaS with potential free tier for basic use and paid upgrades for advanced features like unlimited links, custom domains (if supported), or enhanced analytics—ensuring scalability and recurring value.

Technical Foundation: Delivered a fast, secure backend for high-volume redirects, responsive front-end for mobile/desktop access, and reliable uptime to handle shared links across platforms like Twitter, Instagram, or email campaigns.

The value proposition centered on simplicity and ownership: "Shorten smarter with your own di.tl links—fast, trackable, and fully under your control." It targeted creators, marketers, professionals, and everyday users tired of generic shorteners, empowering them to maintain brand consistency and gather data without complex setups.

Building di.tl was a focused SaaS project that combined backend efficiency (redirect handling at scale), user-centric design, and growth features in the link economy space. It sharpened my skills in launching utility tools that solve real digital pain points—delivering quick value through clean code, intuitive UX, and practical utility.
