Army Body Fat Calculator
Estimate body fat with the U.S. Army circumference method.
The Army tape test
The U.S. Army estimates body fat with a tape measure, using neck and waist circumferences for men and adding the hips for women, together with height. It is quick, repeatable, and needs no special equipment.
A man 178 cm tall with an 88 cm waist and 40 cm neck comes out around 17% body fat. The formula differs slightly from the Navy method but follows the same circumference approach.

How does it differ from the Navy method?
The formulas and coefficients differ slightly, though both use circumference measurements and height.
Why does it ask for sex?
