Image Ruler Measure Overlay

Click two points on an uploaded image and measure the pixel distance.

Measure a pixel distance on an image

Screenshots and design exports often need quick measurement: how far apart are two buttons, how wide is a product label, or how much spacing changed between versions. This ruler overlays a measurement line on the uploaded image and reports the distance between two clicked points.

For example, click the left and right edge of a button in a screenshot and the tool reports the pixel span. Click again to start a new measurement, then download the annotated preview if you want to include the line in a QA note.

Pixel distance only

The reported value is a pixel distance in the displayed image, not inches, centimeters, or real-world scale. If the image was resized before upload, the measurement reflects that file. Everything runs in the browser, so private UI screenshots and client review images stay local. The annotated download can also document exactly which two points were measured during a review.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the image ruler measure overlay work?

It draws the uploaded image to canvas, records two clicked points, draws a line between them, and reports the pixel distance.

What should I check before using it?

The distance is in image pixels after canvas scaling; it is not a real-world measurement unless you know the scale.

When is this useful?

Use it for screenshot QA, rough spacing checks, design comparisons, and measuring image elements by pixel distance.

Is this private?

Yes. Measurement happens locally and the uploaded image is not sent anywhere.
