Split PDF
Split a PDF into separate files by page range without uploading anything.
Private: your file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
Split a PDF by page ranges
Use this tool to break a long PDF into smaller documents without uploading it anywhere. Load the file, list the page ranges you want, and each range is saved as its own PDF you can download. It suits separating chapters, invoices, or a scanned batch into individual records.
Everything runs locally in the browser, so confidential contracts and statements stay on your device. Online splitters usually send your file to a server first, which this tool deliberately avoids.
Range format
Separate output files with semicolons and pages within a file with a hyphen: 1-3; 4-6; 7 produces three PDFs. Page numbers start at 1, and any numbers past the end of the document are ignored.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my PDF uploaded to split it?
No. Splitting runs entirely in your browser with a local library, so your file stays on your device and nothing is sent to a server.
How do I choose the ranges?
Enter each output range on its own, separated by semicolons, using page numbers like 1-3; 4-6; 7. Each range becomes its own downloadable PDF.
Can I pull out a single page?
Yes. Enter that page number as a range, for example 5; 9, to get each page as a separate file. For gathering pages into one file, use the extract-pages tool instead.
Will the split files keep the original quality?
Yes. Pages are copied without re-encoding, so text and images are identical to the source document.
