Unit Price Comparator

Compare unit prices to find the better deal.

Which size is actually cheaper?

The bigger package is not always the better value. Dividing price by quantity gives a unit price you can compare directly — $3 for 500 g beats $5 for 750 g.

Supermarkets already print unit prices, but this settles the awkward cases — different units, bulk versus single, or a promotion — where the shelf label does not compare cleanly.

Match the units

Compare like for like (per 100 g, per litre) for a fair result. The math runs entirely in your browser. The prices you enter are never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

How do I enter the items?

One per line as "name, price, units", such as "Large, 9.49, 30". Set the unit label (like oz or lb) in the second box and the table shows the price per unit with the cheapest marked Best.

Which is cheapest in the default example?

Bulk: $18.99 for 72 oz is about $0.26 per oz, against $0.32 for Large and $0.42 for Small.

Can I compare different units?

Convert everything to the same unit first, such as ounces or grams. Comparing 1 lb against 12 oz without converting gives the wrong winner.
