Hold Shift and turn the mouse wheel: Chrome scrolls sideways, on both Windows and Mac. Mice with a tilt wheel or a thumb wheel, such as many Logitech MX models, scroll sideways directly, and on a touchpad you can swipe sideways with two fingers. On Trello, you can also drag an empty part of the board to move it sideways.
