When a GDPR wall has a reject button, Patrick Bushe's Cookie Auto-Reject clicks it as the page loads, the site records your refusal, and the article opens without you going through the settings pages. Some publishers instead use "accept or pay" walls, where the only free option is accepting tracking; it can't refuse those for you, and you'd need to accept, subscribe or read elsewhere.
