Work through the common fixes: update Chrome (Settings > About Chrome) and your graphics driver; turn on Memory Saver in Settings > Performance; remove extensions you don't use; and open Chrome's Task Manager (Shift+Esc) to find a heavy tab. Try toggling Settings > System > "Use graphics acceleration when available" too. If only one site lags, open it in an Incognito window, where extensions are off by default, to see whether an extension is the cause.
