Wide screens give sites a lot of room for tall sidebar ads. Ultimate Adblocker blocks the ad networks that fill them and hides the ad boxes themselves on the sites EasyList has rules for, so the sidebar shrinks to what the site actually put there. Many sites keep a fixed-width column, so an empty space can remain where the ad was, and the article itself doesn't get wider. Turn on "Other annoyances" in the settings to also hide sticky bars and similar clutter.
