How the additive grade curve calculator works
An additive curve preserves every point gap while moving the highest score to 100. This calculator finds the current maximum, subtracts it from 100, and adds that same shift to every score. Because all values move equally, ordering, pairwise differences, variance, and standard deviation remain unchanged, unlike multiplicative scaling or rank-based grading.
The default scores are 72, 85, and 93. The maximum needs 7 points to reach 100, so the verified curved scores are 79, 92, and 100. The original gaps of 13 and 8 points remain 13 and 8 after curving, demonstrating that the method is a translation rather than a rescaling.
