Morse Code Translator

Translate text to Morse code and Morse back to text.

Text and Morse, both directions

Morse code represents each letter and digit as a pattern of dots and dashes. This tool converts your text into Morse — separating letters with spaces and words with slashes — and converts Morse back into readable text, so it works for learning, puzzles, and ham-radio practice.

For example "SOS" becomes "... --- ...", the internationally recognised distress signal, which shows the letter and word spacing the converter uses.

Character support and privacy

It covers the standard letters, digits, and common punctuation; characters without a Morse equivalent are skipped, so unusual symbols will not round-trip. The translation runs entirely in your browser and nothing you enter is uploaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are letters and words separated?

Letters are separated by a single space and words by a slash, so "SOS" is "... --- ..." and multi-word input keeps its gaps.

Can it decode Morse back to text?

Yes. Paste dots, dashes, spaces, and slashes and it reconstructs the original letters and words.

Is what I enter uploaded?

No. Both directions run in your browser with nothing sent to a server.
