Best Way to Read Bright Articles in a Dark Room

In a dark room, turn the page dark before you start reading.
Modern Dark Mode does it in one click, or with Alt+Shift+D: white backgrounds become dark charcoal and black text light gray, while photos keep their colors. If it's still too bright for the room, lower the Brightness slider in Advanced Settings. Turning your screen brightness down helps as much as any color change.
