Extension to Block Malicious Downloads on PC
Patrick Bushe · May 1, 2026
On file-hosting and software sites, the big "Download" buttons are often ads that lead to unwanted software. Ultimate Adblocker blocks the ad networks that serve most of these fake buttons, closes tabs that ads open by themselves, and shows a warning page before you open an address on the URLhaus malware list. That removes a lot of the bait, but it can't check the file you actually download. Get software from the developer's own site where you can, check the file name and size before opening it, and keep your antivirus on.
