YouTube Premium removes ads, but it also adds downloads, background play on phones and YouTube Music. If ads are all you'd be paying to avoid, an extension covers that part on a computer. Ultimate Adblocker removes ads from YouTube videos in Chrome, skips any that still start, and hides ad boxes in the feed. Its YouTube settings can also hide Shorts, comments and recommended videos, turn off autoplay, and skip sponsor segments. It won't help in the YouTube app on your phone or TV, and YouTube changes its ad system often, so an ad can occasionally slip through until the next update. Keep in mind that Premium also pays the creators you watch.
