Paycheck Split Planner
Split each paycheck into spending buckets.
Give every paycheck a job
Allocating a paycheck across buckets — bills, savings, spending — before it is spent is the core of zero-based budgeting. Enter your net pay and percentages to see each amount.
It pairs well with separate accounts: send each bucket's amount to its own account on payday so bills, savings, and spending money never mingle.
Adjust to reality
Irregular income may need buffering across months. The pay figure you enter never leaves your device. A 50/30/20 split of a $3,000 paycheck, for instance, earmarks $1,500 for bills, $900 for spending, and $600 for savings before any of it is touched.
Frequently asked questions
How do I enter the percentages?
As two comma-separated pairs: "bills, savings" in the second box and "debt, spending" in the third. The default 55, 15 and 10, 20 splits a $2,400 paycheck into $1,320, $360, $240, and $480.
What if my percentages do not add up to 100?
The Total percent row shows the sum. Under 100% leaves money unassigned; over 100% means you are planning to spend more than the paycheck.
Should savings come out first?
Many people "pay themselves first" by automating the savings transfer on payday, so it happens before discretionary spending. The split works the same whichever order you move the money.
