What formula does it use?
Percentage change = (after − before) ÷ before × 100. Going from 1,200 to 1,450 is a difference of 250, a 20.8% increase.
What is the difference between percent change and percentage points?
Percentage points are the plain difference between two percentages: 4% to 5% is up 1 point but a 25% increase. Use points when comparing rates.
What if the before value is zero?
Percentage change from zero is undefined, because you cannot divide by zero, so the tool shows 0%. Report the absolute difference instead.
