How to Disable Gen AI Search on PC

On a PC, add Search Cleaner to Chrome from the Chrome Web Store. It hides Google's AI Overview on google.com search pages straight away, and its "AI Mode Tab" switch hides the AI Mode tab too. It's not a Google setting being changed: Google has no switch for AI Overviews, so the extension hides the boxes after Google sends the page. Google's own "Web" filter, under the search box or in its More menu, also shows plain links with no AI Overview.
