Many blogs use faint gray text and busy designs that are hard to read.
Modern Dark Mode can fix the colors: by default it turns blog backgrounds dark charcoal and text light gray, and if you raise the Contrast slider in Advanced Settings to about 125% they become pure black and pure white. It changes colors, not layout, so a cluttered design keeps its clutter. For just the words, Chrome's Reading mode in the side panel shows the article text alone, with a dark theme option.
