Running Pace Calculator

Enter a distance and finish time to get your pace per km and per mile, plus average speed.

Know your real pace

Pace is the number every runner trains by: total time divided by distance. This calculator takes your distance and finish time and returns pace per kilometre and per mile at once, so you can plan splits or check a race result without doing the arithmetic mid-run.

For example, covering 5 km in 27:30 is a pace of 5:30 per kilometre, or about 8:51 per mile, at roughly 10.9 km/h. Seeing both units side by side helps when a race is measured in miles but you train in kilometres.

Accurate and private

The math is a straight division done live as you type, with no rounding tricks hiding a slow split. Everything runs in your browser, so your training data stays on your device and nothing is uploaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is running pace calculated?

Pace is your total time divided by distance. Enter distance and finish time and the tool returns minutes per kilometre and per mile, plus average speed.

What is a good 5K pace?

It varies widely, but many recreational runners finish a 5K around 6:00–7:30 per kilometre. Use your own result here as a personal baseline rather than a benchmark.

Does it work for miles and kilometres?

Yes. Pick your distance unit and the output shows pace in both min/km and min/mi so you can train or race in either.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser and nothing you enter is sent to a server.
