Best Chrome Dark Theme for Migraine Sufferers
Patrick Bushe · May 1, 2026
Bright screens bother many people with migraines and light sensitivity, and a dark theme can make browsing more comfortable.
Modern Dark Mode darkens every site in Chrome, and its Advanced Settings let you lower the Brightness or add Sepia / Warmth if the default is still too harsh. Two honest limits: it applies as the page loads, so you may see a brief flash of white on some sites, and no extension can prevent migraines. If light is a regular trigger for you, it's worth raising with your doctor.
