Text-heavy sites are where a forced dark mode works best.
Modern Dark Mode turns news sites, Medium and Substack dark: white backgrounds become dark charcoal, black text light gray, and photos keep their colors. It changes colors only, not fonts or layout. For a single long article, Chrome's Reading mode in the side panel is another option: it shows the text alone and lets you pick a dark color theme.
