Auto Repair Shop Websites

Auto repair website design for independent shops

Websites for independent auto repair shops, from a two-bay garage to a shop with several locations. A driver looking for a mechanic is usually worried: a warning light came on, the brakes are grinding, or the dealer’s number was higher than expected. They want to know whether you work on their make, roughly what common jobs cost, how soon you can look at the car, and whether you’ll check with them before doing anything extra. I design shop sites that answer those questions and turn a nervous search into a booked drop-off. Below: what a repair shop site costs, and the trust signals that win a driver over.

Quick answer

Building an auto repair site yourself runs about $17.77 to $159.77 a month, a trades plan like ProPages is $99 to $149 a month, and a custom shop site starts at $5,000. Whichever route you take, the site pays off when a driver can see you fix their make, read what the first look costs and request a drop-off time from a phone.

Signs a driver looks for in a new shop

  1. They work on my car. Makes, models and fuel types, including hybrids and electric cars if you service them.
  2. They explain before they fix. How estimates and approvals work, in your own words.
  3. Real people. Photos of your technicians and the bays, with names if they agree.
  4. Certifications. ASE certifications and your state registration number.
  5. A warranty. The months and miles you cover on parts and labor.
  6. The cost of finding out. The diagnostic fee, and whether it goes toward the repair.
  7. Getting around. A shuttle, loaner, waiting room or ride credit, if you offer one.

Approval before extra work: put it on the site

In California, the Bureau of Automotive Repair requires a written estimate and the customer’s consent before work starts, and consent again before the bill goes over that estimate. Explaining the process on your site, with a sample of the text or photo you send for approval, tells drivers there won’t be a surprise at pickup. Other states set their own rules, so check yours.

Work

A quote form that fills in as you type

Truebore Precision is a machine shop I invented. Its quote form builds a title block and a lead-time estimate live, and it shows a sample inspection report, much like the photo inspection a careful repair shop sends before starting work. See all 26

  • A sample inspection report and a band of certifications
  • A filterable capabilities chart that crosses out what doesn’t fit
  • One page per process, each naming its machines

What's included

Every project includes

Service pages by job

Brakes, oil changes, diagnostics, A/C, suspension, timing belts and smog checks if you’re licensed for them, each with warning signs and what the visit involves.

Price guidance

Starting prices for routine jobs like an oil change or front brake pads, with a note that the final number follows an inspection.

Booking and drop-off

Appointment requests with a drop-off or wait option, after-hours key drop steps, and a shuttle or loaner note if you offer one.

A why-choose-us page

Technician certifications, years in business, warranty terms and photos of the bays and the people working in them.

Reviews by repair

Reviews sorted by the job they mention, so someone with a brake problem reads about brakes.

Area and fleet pages

Pages for the neighborhoods you serve, plus fleet accounts if you look after company vehicles.

Optional add-on

Add an AI assistant to your new site

A better site brings in more inquiries. An AI add-on makes sure none of them wait. I build it alongside your site, so it launches with everything else.

The coding stage runs four to eight weeks, and your service writer can try each preview from the counter.

    Launch and support

Launch day with every old link redirected, a short lesson on posting specials and hours, then 30 days of support.

Investment

Auto repair website pricing

$5,000+

Repair shop sites start at $5,000. A second location, fleet pages or a link-up with your shop software raise it, and the full amount is set on paper before a single screen is drawn.

Every project includes discovery, design iterations, development, launch, and 30 days of post-launch support. Fixed scope, no surprise billing.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask

What should an auto repair website include?

The makes you work on, a page for each common repair, starting prices where you can give them, appointment requests, hours and drop-off details, warranty terms, certifications and reviews. Drivers also want to see that you’ll ask before adding work.

How much does an auto repair shop website cost?

Wix plans for a do-it-yourself site run $17.77–$159.77 a month and Squarespace plans $19–$99, paid annually. ProPages, a site plan for local trades that names auto repair, charges $99 or $149 a month. Custom shop sites from me start at $5,000 as a single quoted price.

Should a repair shop post prices online?

For routine work, yes: oil changes, brake pads, batteries, alignments. Jobs that need a diagnosis first can show the inspection fee and explain that an estimate comes before any repair. In California, the Bureau of Automotive Repair requires a written estimate and the customer’s consent before work begins.

Can customers book repairs online?

Yes. A request form with the car, the problem and a preferred drop-off day suits most shops, and some shop management systems have their own appointment tools that the site can link to.

How do we compete with dealerships online?

Be specific and local. A dealer promotes its brand; an independent shop wins by naming the makes it knows, showing its technicians and warranty, and keeping its Google Business Profile full of real photos and replies to reviews.

Do you build sites for shops outside Los Angeles?

Yes. Repair shops in any US city can hire me. I’m based in Los Angeles, and the project runs by email with a preview link at each stage.
