A CNC machine shop website drawn like an engineering drawing

A machine shop site laid out as a drawing sheet, with a quote form that fills in a title block as you type.

Truebore Precision is a made-up brand. I designed and built it to show what a machine shop site can look like; the people, prices, results and reviews on it are samples.

The brief

Truebore Precision is a made-up CNC shop in Gardena: 5-axis milling, Swiss turning, wire EDM and grinding, from one prototype to a few thousand parts.

The people who buy machining are engineers and buyers. They want three answers fast: can you hold my tolerance, in my material, at my size? Then they want to send a file and get a quote, without a sales call first.

The idea

The engineering drawing

Engineers read drawings all day, so the site is one. Every page sits on a drawing sheet with zone numbers and letters in the margin, the hero is a flanged bushing in front and section view with its dimensions in cyan, and the quote form fills in a real title block as you type. Design decisions

Answer the three questions first

Every process card leads with its tolerance, its largest part and its lead time, because those decide whether a buyer reads on.

A matrix that crosses things out

Pick a material and the tightest tolerance on your drawing, and the capabilities table strikes out the processes that can’t do it. Titanium at ±0.003 mm leaves wire EDM.

The title block fills in

Part name, material, finish, quantity, tolerance, files and due date land in a drawing title block beside the form, with a sample lead time that explains each day it adds.

Proof without invented clients

Inspection reports and certifications are what buyers check. The site shows both, and every one is labeled Sample.

What’s built

  • Quote form with a file drop for STEP, IGES, SLDPRT, DXF and PDF (nothing leaves the page)
  • Live title block and lead-time estimate that update as you fill the form
  • Capabilities matrix filtered by material and tolerance
  • Six process pages with machines, sizes and typical parts
  • Sample inspection report and certifications band
  • NDA request built into the quote

Pages to try

Everything works in the browser. Forms and checkout don’t send anything.
