Chrome uses your computer's mouse pointer, so the way to make it bigger or easier to see is in your operating system's settings. Every major system has good options, and they apply in Chrome and everywhere else.

Windows 11

  1. Open Settings → Accessibility → Mouse pointer and touch.
  2. Drag the Size slider to make the pointer bigger.
  3. Pick a Mouse pointer style: white, black, inverted (changes color against the background) or a custom bright color.

Under Accessibility → Text cursor, turn on the Text cursor indicator to add a colored marker around the blinking text cursor, and make the cursor thicker. On Windows 10, look under Settings → Ease of Access.

Mac

  1. Open System Settings → Accessibility → Display, then Pointer.
  2. Drag Pointer size to make it bigger, and change the pointer's outline and fill colors.
  3. Turn on Shake mouse pointer to locate: shake the mouse and the pointer briefly grows so you can find it.

Chromebook

Open Settings → Accessibility → Cursor and touchpad. Turn on Show large mouse cursor and set its size, choose a cursor color, and turn on Highlight the mouse cursor when it's moving if you lose track of it.

Caret browsing in Chrome

Chrome's caret browsing puts a movable text cursor on any page, so you can move through text and select it with the arrow keys, like in a document. Press F7 to turn it on or off, or find it under Settings → Accessibility → Navigate pages with a text cursor.

Making the page easier to follow too

  • Zoom in with Ctrl and + so links and buttons are bigger targets.
  • Focus highlight: Chrome's Settings → Accessibility → Show a quick highlight on the focused object flashes a ring around whatever you've just moved to with the keyboard.
  • Fewer distractions: ADHD Reading Focus shows one paragraph at a time, which makes it easier to keep your place.

Custom cursor extensions

Extensions that change the cursor's look only work inside web pages and are mostly decorative. They don't follow you into the address bar or other apps, and some ask for access to every site. For accessibility, the system settings above are more reliable. For text size and spacing, see how to customize line spacing and font size in Chrome.
