A sports nutrition store where every tub is a bumper plate

A supplement store with the dose on the front and a protein calculator that loads your day onto a bar.

Platewise is a made-up brand. I designed and built it to show what a sports nutrition store can look like; the people, prices, results and reviews on it are samples.

The brief

Platewise is a made-up sports nutrition brand in Venice: protein, creatine, pre-workout, electrolytes and bars.

Supplement shoppers are tired of proprietary blends and hype. They want the dose, and to know whether they need the product at all.

The idea

The bumper plate

Every label is a plate with the dose where the weight would be (25 g, 5 g, 150 mg), each line takes a plate color (protein red, performance yellow, hydration blue, bars green), and the protein calculator loads your day onto a barbell, one plate per meal. Black and plate colors on cool grey; Barlow Condensed with Barlow, square corners.

Design decisions

The dose goes on the front

Grams and milligrams are the biggest thing on every tub and product page.

Tell people when they don’t need it

The protein calculator uses common sports-nutrition ranges (about 1.4 to 2.2 g per kg) and says so when food already covers your number.

Compliance in plain sight

Every product page carries the FDA supplement statement, marked as a sample.

What’s built

  • Protein calculator with a daily range split across meals
  • Plate-color product lines with doses up front
  • Flavor and size options with prices that update
  • Starter stack bundle
  • Bag and demo checkout that sends nothing

Pages to try

Everything works in the browser. Forms and checkout don’t send anything.
