An orthodontist website built around the dental arch

A braces and aligners site whose first screen is a drawn arch that straightens month by month, with a cost planner that gives the monthly payment, the visits and the finish date.

Setline Orthodontics is a made-up brand. I designed and built it to show what a orthodontist site can look like; the people, prices, results and reviews on it are samples.

The brief

Setline Orthodontics is a made-up practice in Los Feliz that treats kids, teens and adults with metal braces, clear braces and clear aligners.

People shopping for braces ask the same four things: what it costs a month, how long it takes, how many appointments it means, and whether those fit around school and work. Most orthodontist sites answer with stock smiles and a free-consult button.

The idea

The arch

The upper dental arch, drawn from above, fills the first screen, and the headline sits inside it. Drag the month slider or press play and 14 crowded teeth line up along the wire over 18 months. Switch to clear braces or aligners and the drawing changes with it; pick an elastic color and the ties change. The same arch tops every photo like an arched window, draws the logo and lays out the cost planner’s timeline, where each visit is a bracket on the wire. The header is symmetric like the arch, page heads curve like the lower arch, and the top of the footer is the upper one. Electric cobalt, ice and ink; Archivo, expanded and light for headlines, normal width for reading.

Design decisions

Show the treatment, not a stock smile

Instead of before-and-after photos, the hero draws a sample case and lets you move through it. Each stage gets a plain caption, and the drawing is labeled as a sample.

Price it in six questions

Who it’s for, how much needs fixing, which option, the insurance lifetime maximum, the down payment and how many months to pay. The planner returns the full fee, the insurance estimate, the monthly payment at 0% interest, the number of visits and the month the braces come off. Kids 7 to 10 get early treatment instead, and aligners with a big bite problem get a warning.

Built around school hours

The hours chart shades everything after 3 pm, and the consult booking has an after-school filter. A plan priced in the cost planner shows up on the booking page.
